Soon after construction, a design review found that the concrete foundations of these 60-meter wind turbines needed additional confinement. Only one 12" layer of the Edge Velacarb 600 was needed to provide the required upgrade in burst pressure.
A three-person crew was able to strengthen each foundation in about two hours not including surface preparation.
The crew smoothes out the FRP sheet to ensure full contact with the foundations & remove any air bubbles.
Once smoothed out, the FRP sheet is left to cure.
Sorry, photo to come soon :-)
After a 24 hr cure, the FRP is painted & backfilled leaving a repair that blends in so well that the repair is difficult to discern.
